icon Double Girder Suspension Cranes: Longer Span, Higher Load and Better Hook Height

Double girder suspension cranes uses two parallel bridge girders installed below the building's overhead supporting structure. The hoist trolley is arranged between the two girders, allowing the crane to cover a rectangular working area without floor-mounted columns.

Compared with a single girder suspension crane, the double girder structure is more suitable for higher loads, longer spans, long materials, eccentric loads and applications using vacuum lifters, manipulators or customized lifting attachments. The double girder layout can also reduce the vertical space occupied below the bridge, helping improve the available hook height.

ZKHOIST can configure manual or electric travel according to the load capacity, span, runway length, lifting height, suspension-point spacing, operating frequency and building structure. The current standard selection range covers 125 kg to 2000 kg. Final parameters must be confirmed according to the actual project.

Core Advantages of the Flexible Double Girder System

Longer span than single girder suspension cranes

Two parallel bridge girders share the load, allowing the system to achieve a longer span under the same rated capacity and cover wider production areas.

Better hook height with the hoist between two girders

The hoist trolley can be arranged between the two bridge girders, reducing the vertical space occupied by the bridge and hoist so the hook can travel closer to the roof.

Smooth movement from the flexible suspension structure

The flexible suspension connection can absorb part of the horizontal force generated during starting, braking and manual pushing, making movement lighter and smoother.

Modular layout for workstations and production lines

Runways, bridge girders, suspension points, power supply and hoisting equipment can be arranged around equipment, aisles and workstations for production lines and material distribution areas.

Suitable for long loads, eccentric loads and customized tools

The double girder bridge provides better layout space for lifting beams, vacuum lifters, manipulators and customized fixtures, and is more suitable for loads with irregular centers of gravity.

Typical Applications of Double Girder Suspension Cranes

Production Line Material Transfer

Suitable for component transfer between assembly lines, processing lines and multiple workstations. The double girder structure is better for wider working areas and stable electric travel.

Machining and Equipment Loading

Used for machine tools, machining centers, die stations and equipment maintenance areas. The double girder structure is better for heavier workpieces, eccentric loads and repeated positioning.

Automotive Parts Assembly

Suitable for engines, frames, battery packs, fixtures and other automotive components. For long parts or irregular centers of gravity, the double girder bridge provides more stable support.

Warehouse and Workstation Distribution

Suitable for warehouses, preparation areas, line-side storage and workstation distribution. The system can cover a fixed rectangular area for pallets, boxes or semi-finished products.

Optional Rigid Beam Configuration

For applications requiring higher structural stiffness, more stable travel or more precise positioning, ZKHOIST can also provide a rigid beam configuration. Compared with the flexible suspended track system, the rigid beam structure better reduces bridge skewing and lateral movement.
